A classic French pastry, we caramelize apples in a sauté pan with butter and sugar until they are golden, top the apples with a rich butter crust, and bake in the oven until the apples are tender. Once cooled, the tart is flipped out of the pan to reveal a beautifully rich, tender, and perfectly caramelized apple tart.
